It had taken lots of fighting and almost 3 years to get to this point but once we did the team have been incredible.
To start, the lovey gentleman on reception who was always happy to help and a friendly welcoming face (sorry I do not know his name).
Next secretary Elaine who went above and beyond and ensured we were looked after.
Then ANP Claire took time that was precious and unscheduled to support us and our daughter and we felt listened to.
This meant we then progressed to being seen by Amanda, a nursing team leader who spent time supporting and listening to our daughter ( I mean literally got on the floor at her level and engaged with her) and ensuring our journey continued on the right path. She advocated for our daughter and was key in progression.
Next we met Evie, this Nurse (as a nurse myself) is the absolute example of person centred care, she spent time explaining every step, making sure we as parents we understood what was going on, listened to us and most importantly to our daughter. She was kind, caring and compassionate while being professional and passionate about her job.
Evie then met us with Dr Halina who again provided a supportive conversation around diagnosis. The process means that Evie and the team up until this point have carried out the majority of the ground work and had an MDT meeting with Dr Halina which resulted in a diagnosis, this has worked incredibly well for our daughter who struggles meeting new people.
Then Evie attended our TATC meeting to support the school that we recently transitioned to for additional support.
We are now awaiting the full report to be shared and from start to finish it has been about 3 months which is an incredibly efficient timescale specific to our situation.
After a very frustrating long wait for an over burdened service we could not be more grateful to every member of the team that played a part in supporting our daughter and us. These individuals have all went above and beyond their jobs and should be incredibly proud. Thank you all.
"The team have been incredible"
