"Dangerous Car Park"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

After a hospital appointment while walking back to the car, my pram hit a pot hole on the designated pedestrian path in the car park.

The pram was going to flip over, luckily I managed to stop it going right over at speed but, although my 2year old wasn’t injured as he was strapped in, sadly my baby ended up on the tarmac, and my shins were bruised and cut from my pram from me fighting to stop it tipping over.

A lovely couple stopped and helped me up and calmed the situation but I still had cars driving past while the pram wasn’t righted.

There should not be pot holes in a car park in a hospital, the emergency department were lovely and checked us out but it shouldn’t have come to this.

Dear R Ross

I’m so sorry to hear about your experience at the Royal Alexandra Hospital and please accept my sincere apologies. I appreciate how distressing this would have been for both of you, and I am sorry that you had to go through this. I am glad that your child wasn’t injured and I hope that you are ok now. Our Estates Team have been alerted to this. My colleague Fraser MacDonald, who is the Site Manager for the hospital, would like to speak to you directly. Would you be able to contact Fraser on 0141 314 7064?

I am pleased that the emergency department staff were supportive and that a kind couple helped you both out.

Thank you

Nicole
