I was struggling with my breastfeeding journey after being given some poor advice by my own local feeding team and was at a loss, I visited my sister who lives in Fife who had received support from Bonnie, who is one of the breastfeeding support workers and she asked her to come and see me to help me.
The support and advice Bonnie gave me has saved my breastfeeding journey and I’m so grateful for the support she gave me. It empowered me to keep going and keep feeding my little girl.
I believe, the loss of this service will be of a huge detriment to postpartum mothers who want to breastfeed. Without it, I think breastfeeding rates will plummet and poor maternal mental health rates will rise as people give up breastfeeding against their will and subsequently will feel the negative affects of this.
