We have been caring for Mum at home though she has Alzheimers and arthritis but she's continued to play a full part in our family life.

Recently she deteriorated significantly and we struggled to care for her as she was more wobbly and unable to walk even with help. We realised we could no longer care for her at home but it was a Sunday and we didn't know what to do or how to access help urgently.

We rang 111 and were referred to the Community Response Team. Aimee and Gemma came round a couple of hours later and they were so kind, helpful and reassuring. They arranged for emergency carers, an on-call doctor to visit and for equipment that we needed so that we could keep Mum at home.

We didn't know the Community Response Team existed but they were just what we needed - we couldn't believe how quickly and comprehensively they responded.

We couldn't imagine a way that Mum could stay at home but with the help of the Community Response Team that has been possible and we are very grateful as its what we all wanted.
