What I liked
My partner spent 5 days in the BRI in February after breaking his ankle and has returned several times since as an outpatient. We were totally impressed with every aspect of his care. Every ward and clinic we attended was clean and bright. The staff were out of this world, and genuinely seemed to treat us as individuals. We especially liked the way that everyone dealing with us introduced themselves and explained their role. Thanks to all of you who made a difficult time much easier for both of us.
What could be improved
My partner was admitted on a dark evening. I had been lucky enough not to visit A & E previously, having only lived in Bristol for a few years and parked around the back. There was very little (no) lighting and very steep stairs leading down the A & E entrance which were difficult for me to negotiate with his overnight bag, and I found it a bit frightening on my own. Hopefully this will be better once the building works have finished.
