"Maternity Care"

About: Maternity care / Labour suite maternity Maternity care / Maternity care (Ward 31)

(as the patient),

My community midwife, Loraine, was fantastic. Having the same midwife throughout my care really helped me and I genuinely felt like we bonded.

She went above and beyond in my care, visiting me in hospital when I was poorly with meningitis whilst pregnant, visiting me when I was admitted for my induction, and excitedly visiting me in labour ward after the birth of my daughter.

The continuity of care meant a lot to me as well, as I was already comfortable with Loraine. My post natal midwife visits were, luckily, all with her as well. I was genuinely upset when it came time for Loraine to discharge me from her care into the care of the health visitor.

Loraine is an absolute credit to the role, and I know my journey wouldn’t have been the same without her.
