"Medical advice and attention......"

About: Chesterfield Royal Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I had large blisters appear on the front of my lower legs. They were not painful but knew it wasn't right. I left them for a few days thinking they may just go away, I didn't feel ill. However, they started to burst and become a little uncomfortable.

I went to A&E on a Sunday evening, After initial assessment I was referred to Urgent Treatment. The reception staff at main A&E were so friendly and understanding, I saw Henry.

I had my initial assessment with a nurse called Sarah. The staff on Urgent Treatment reception were just as friendly. I saw Sarah again who attended to my wounds and gave advice as to what the blisters might be, a possible skin infection or could be Bullous Pemphigoid. My legs are swollen, so possibly also Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.

I was given prescription for Antibiotics for seven days. Keep the bandages on my legs and come back to A&E for a review by end of the week.

I felt very reassured about my assessment and can't praise your staff enough, Sarah especially and the trainee nurse who took my blood pressure and temperature. I was so grateful for the kindness and support.
