Just finished my treatment at the Centre for Integrative Care and can't thank the staff enough. What they can do with such little staff is amazing.
Following a full assessment by one of the Doctors, it was suggested that I complement my treatment being received by rheumatology by using mindfulness and other exploratory approaches. I completed my course on mindfulness and I have to say, although I was a bit sceptical, it has improved my mental stability and equipped me with new skills and outlook to manage my autoimmune disease.
Although I am undergoing treatment for this condition via rheumatology and my condition is improving, the integrative approach gave me the space to explore my limitations and live generally better with my condition. I can't emphasise enough how important this centre is for patients struggling with conditions where there aren't any easy answers. Bringing the full picture together really helped me understand my condition and what I could do to self-manage and improve my unique predicament.
More funding, staff and more services at the Centre are badly needed.
"Bringing the full picture together really helped me"
