I’ve got acute chronic pancreatitis and the pain comes and goes when it wants. It’s hospital treatment and can’t be treated in your own comforts of your home sadly.
I got put onto ward 52 where I met the nurse Callum.
Callum has great people skills and communication skills with a lot of knowledge on his job role, he was also able to calm me down very quickly as I have severe anxiety. On top of that Callum kept the pain at ease with pain relief that was issued.
He was running around fending for loads of patients as it was a busy night but still had the time to come in and check in on me which made him very caring and a professional at his job in my eyes. Also not to mention it wasn’t just me he was doing it with , it was all of the patients that were needing aid and I’m very sure they would all agree with me on this.
Callum’s co pilot Kellie who is a health care assistant was also amazing as she was making sure myself and all other patients were topped up on fluids etc. She was very comical as well and made a lot of patients laugh which was nice to hear and it totally changed the atmosphere for the better. Kellie also had a little chat with me which made me feel at real ease, once again the professionalism was outstanding in her also.
I dearly thank Callum and Kellie for their expertise help along with all the other ward 52 staff members.
Thanks a lot ward 52.
"Very caring and a professional"
