"My son’s audiology appointment"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Audiology Hearing Aid Department

(as a parent/guardian),

My son has been attending Audiology at RVH, Belfast for a number of years. He had an appointment with Wikoria, a Senior Audiologist, and the service he received was outstanding.

He is a very reluctant hearing aid user and Wiktoria spent a long time talking through things with him. She explained his audiogram to him and how this affects the different speech sounds he has access to. He is now willing to give his hearing aid another go and this is due to the time she spent listening to him about his concerns and how she could help overcome them.

This will have a massive impact of his daily life in school and I am very grateful to her.

Thank you so much for taking time to provide such lovely and positive feedback about our audiology staff and your son’s experience.

It is very reassuring to read that Wiktoria spent time listening to understand and talking through identified issues with your son. It’s reassuring she explained the audiogram and they collectively could overcome them, in turn aiding his decision to use his hearing aid. It is very encouraging to hear this will have an enhancement on his daily life and at school.

I will share this information with Wiktoria and the Professional Audiology Lead Manager. Thanks again, for taking time to provide such lovely and positive feedback.
