"Breastfeeding support - the group is invaluable"

About: Fife Community Services / Breast Feeding Support Service

(as a service user),

As a first time new mum I found breastfeeding extremely challenging. It all came to a head at around 7 weeks when as a last ditch attempt to continue I attended the Rothes Halls breastfeeding support group.

Lisa is an angel, incredibly compassionate and knowledgeable and I can say with absolute certainty I would not still be breastfeeding after several months if I hadn't met her.

The group is invaluable, I've met other mums when I felt so alone that have now become friends, something that is so critical as a first time mum with no close friends locally. My week revolves around my afternoon at the group and I know any issues I have, I can go to Lisa and she will be supportive and caring.

I honestly just wish there were more things available like this for post partum care. They could benefit women and new parents so much.

Dear Lyndsey24,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback via CareOpinion and highlighting how helpful you have found the Breastfeeding Group at Glenrothes.

It's really lovely to hear that this group has helped you in multiple ways, and not just for a 'breastfeeding problem'. I will share your kind words to Lisa too as I'm sure she'll love to hear the positive difference she's made for you.

Kind regards,
Louise
