"Always took time to thoroughly explain what was happening"

About: Glasgow Dental Hospital and School / Paediatric Dentistry - Level 5

(as a service user),

My daughter was discharged today from the paediatrics dept of the Dental Hospital after a number of appointments to save her front tooth.

She had fainted and knocked one tooth clean out and badly knocked and broken the other causing it to start dying. Scott is a fantastic, patient and kind dentist who completed a tricky root canal treatment over several appointments to save her front tooth. He was always so lovely with my daughter and has such a great way with young people. He always  took time to  thoroughly explain what was happening and provided reassurance throughout. As a result, she was never anxious about attending despite long hours in the chair.

All of the dental nurses were equally kind as were the x-ray department where we never had to wait long.

Congratulations Scott on your new post, I’m certain you will be a big loss to the dept!

Dear gratefulcustomer,

I was so sorry to hear of your daughter’s accident and the dental trauma that she experienced. I can imagine how upsetting that must have been for you both.

Scott and the team respond to this type of injury on a regular basis unfortunately. However, it is great to know that your daughters tooth has been saved and she is now on the mend.

I do agree Scott certainly does have lots of patience and a pleasant manner that our young patients very much respond to. He will be missed by his patients and all of the team.

Thank you for taking time to tell us of your experience. I will share your very kind feedback with Scott, the Dental Nursing team and our colleagues in the x-ray department.

Kindest regards,

Fiona
