"Pre-assessment Clinic at Stracathro Hospital"

About: General Surgery / Pre-Assessment Clinic

(as the patient),

I attended the Anaesthetic assessment clinic prior to a replacement knee operation.

I was naturally full of trepidation as to what was to occur, not helped by a one hour twenty minute drive. It was as it turned out nothing to be worried about, on arrival at reception I was greeted by a helpful receptionist who took my details and asked me to take a seat in a light airy place. Within five minutes Caroline  came along introduced herself and by her manner put me at my ease.

She escorted me to a consulting room asking me if I would like my husband to accompany me. Once inside the room her manner was most professional and caring, she explained exactly what the procedure would be during the assessment and pre operation as well as post operation.

She was totally aware of my concerns and took the trouble to reassure me by answering any of my queries at every stage. I felt completely relaxed and I can't thank her enough, she is a true professional.

I was then handed over to cheerful Emma who was also professional and caring to take blood for the blood tests and swabs.

I would like to thank and show my appreciation to a completely professional organisation who turned a daunting situation into a positive outcome.
