"We really are grateful to have such amazing staff"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Neurology

(as a relative),

I just wanted to say a special thank you to all the wonderful staff from 23a.

Our relative was admitted after a deterioration of his physical capabilities and spent 11/12 weeks on the ward when he was sadly diagnosed with motor neurone disease.

During an already difficult time his daughter was also admitted to medical high dependency and the staff were very accommodating in making sure he got down to see her in his wheelchair.

When we received the devastating news that she was receiving end of life care and shortly passed away, the staff were not only there to tend to our relative's physical needs but also his mental and emotional needs.

He wanted to give a special mention to Lesley and Carly who we cannot thank enough for your care and compassion during such a harrowing time. He has since moved into a care home, which has been a huge adjustment for a man who was fully independent a short while ago.

Carly has gone the extra mile to visit him following his discharge to ensure he was settling in and she has been absolutely wonderful with or relative and the family.

We really are grateful to have such amazing staff caring for our loved ones.

Dear Jen98,

Thank you very much for taking the time, in what has been very difficult circumstances for you to feed back on the care your dad received on Ward 23A.It is really heart warming to hear how the staff have supported you all through very difficult times. I will make sure the team, and and in particular the individual members you have mentioned are made aware of the feed back and appreciation you have conveyed through Care Opinion. Thank you once again for your feedback I know it means a lot to the team to know when they are getting it right.

Dear Jen98,

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback to the team about the care your dad received. I have shared this with everyone in ward 23A and we appreciate when people take the time to give feedback on care opinion. It gives everyone a boost when we get lovely feedback like this.

I am aware it has been a very difficult time for your dad and the family, and I am glad that we were able to provide the support your dad needed. It is very rewarding to for the team to see that the care provided had such positive impact for him.

Kind Regards
