I attended the hospital for a pre-op assessment. I was nervous about the appointment but was greeted by the reception staff and a nurse and thanks to their friendly demeanour, I immediately felt at ease.
The nurse checked my height, weight and blood pressure She then did a trace of my heart and took a blood sample. After a short wait, another nurse asked me a lot if questions regarding my current health and surgical history. She answered of all my questions and concerns in a polite and friendly manner. The process was completed within an hour and I left the hospital feeling very much at ease with the forthcoming procedure.
May I suggest that it would be helpful if a map of the hospital and some basic directions could be included with the appointment letter. I am not familiar with the hospital and I had to ask for directions on a number of occasions. Everyone I spoke to was very helpful, but I'm glad I arrived quite early, otherwise, I would have been late and that could have had a knock-on effect on the system.
