"Lack of basic service"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My mother, who is in her 80's, was called by the hospital and told to come in to A&E because an X Ray had shown fluid in one lung and a partial collapse. I left work, collected my mum and headed over to Wishaw.

2 hours later, we're still sitting in A&E, crucially, not having even been triaged. Why call an old woman in, when there are no facilities to actually do anything?

No information, no updates, nothing. Dreadful service.

Dear Davpe74

I am sorry to hear of your mother’s experience whilst being called and told to attend the Emergency Department here at University Hospital Wishaw and I would be keen to look into this further.

Further information would be helpful to be able to review your mother’s attendance and be able to feedback to you and I would appreciate if you could contact Yvonne Ross our Patient Affairs Manager on 01698 366558.

Kind Regards

Faith
