"She was nothing but an angel for me"

About: Clydesdale / Health Visiting Clydesdale

(as a parent/guardian),

I'm an international mum I came to Scotland in 2023 with my husband and child. Being an international is quite tough to settle here and being a mum of first child.

Firstly I got a health visitor for my child, her name is Lorna from Lanark, she paid 2-3 visits for my child but after some days I was worried as I was unable to handle my child because it's my first experience and I don't know how to manage my child I was worried and asked help from Lorna. She said she will send someone who will help me then after some days I got a text that Lorna asked her to help me with my child and she wants to come at my home to meet us. I said to her ok you can come, and on that day I met Nicola, and she was nothing but an angel for me.

Nicola completely changed my thoughts about being a mum, she always helped me and encouraged me to handle my child with love, care and happiness. She helped  me with clothes and toys and books for my child from children's bank, she saved me money and time by doing this whenever I need. My child is happy when she sees Nicola at home, she plays, she loved her clothes and toys.

I don't know much about what motherhood is but Nicola makes me realise motherhood is nothing but a journey full of love happiness and care. In Scotland she is an early years worker but for me she's an angel sent by God for me because no one will understand how helpful was to me in my sad days, in my struggle days, but I am happy with her service and I want Nicola to be my courage for next few years. But sadly I came to know that she's moving to hospital she's no longer an early years worker and it's a complete shock for me and I'm unable to come up from this,

Nicola helped me to register my child in nursery and many other places like dentist, speech and language department, hearing department and many more. I don't know how can I survive without her but I must say if motherhood is beautiful it's because of people like Nicola. If Nicola's boss is reading my story, then it's my extremely humble request to him/her to please leave Nicola for mums like me, she's an angel for every mum like me, we will struggle to survive without Nicola, please boss don't send her away from all mums and children who love Nicola  a lot, she is an angel for all mums, please accept my request on behalf of all mums and children of Scotland. I'll be grateful if you if you accept my request. Thank you

Good morning Mama21,

I was delighted to read the fabulous review you have shared about your experience with both our Health Visiting and Early Years Service. It is truly amazing to hear about the relationships you have built with both staff and in particular Nicola. The Early years service has definitely been an incredible resource for families within South Lanarkshire University Health & Social Care Partnership. Unfortunately the service is only available for a set period of time.

I am happy to hear of the progress you have made in your journey as a mum with the help of Nicola and wish you your child the very best for the future.

I will be delighted to pass this amazing feedback to Nicola and the team as a whole and want to thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to provide this amazing feedback

Kind Regards

Karen
