I was really apprehensive about my endoscopy appointment and when I arrived at the hospital and found the very small waiting room, extremely busy, it would have been so easy just to turn around and walk away. But I didn't. After being greeted by the cheerful receptionist, I took a seat expecting a long wait but after only a few minutes, I was seen by a lovely male nurse. He asked me all the usual questions and explained the procedure to me, we even had a chat about his elderly Springer spaniel. I was asked to go back to the waiting room and wait to be called. After a 5-minute wait I was taken through for the procedure by the consultant and met the two wonderful nurses who would be looking after me. I won't say it was a pleasant procedure, but I was put at ease by the consultant and nurses. Can't thank them enough. Won't be so worried next time.
