"Not receiving appointments"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Radiology

(as a relative),

Today a member of my family discovered they should have attended an urgent appointment 2 weeks ago. They were not contacted by letter or phone. This is one of many incidents I have heard of in recent weeks from people I know who have been waiting for appointments. This is also the second member of the family who has not received an appointment and then been castigated for not attending. I also know of one person being sent an appointment for one hospital, receiving a phonecall the day before and when attending said hospital was told they were at the wrong hospital. What is going on with the appointment system.

Said person who was waiting for the urgent appointment has also not received an appointment for an ultrasound and we are now 13 weeks from the referral. I thought it was a 12 week wait for a non urgent ultrasound.

Thankyou for your response it is much appreciated however, following an appointment this week, the ultrasound is being disregarded and urgent CT and PET scans have been requested.

Once again thankyou for taking the time to respond but I hope this helps to prevent other people missing appointments and is a learning curve not only for your department but also for NHS Lanarkshire.
