"Discharge in middle of night from ward D5 East SAU"

About: Royal Gwent Hospital / General Surgery

(as other),

My wife age 65 suffering severe abdominal pain was admitted to hospital at 6.15 pm in early December after some excellent care from the nurses.

At 1am the next morning I was told to go home as my wife would be kept in for further investigation, at 2:30 am I had a phone call from my wife to pick her up as the registrar discharged her.

Note my wife had not slept for 24 hours because of the pain or eaten for 2 days. Is this fair?
