"They are so good with the patients"

About: St John's Hospital / Medicine of the Elderly

(as the patient),

I am currently a patient in Ward 8 at St John’s Hospital, I have been here for almost 7 months, I would like to give a huge shout out to all the staff in this ward, I feel they don’t get enough praise, they all work extremely hard and they are all absolutely amazing with all the patients.

It can be an emotional rollercoaster for me at times, but I have always had the care and support from all the nurses, CSW’s, student nurses, physio staff, and the domestic staff, they have looked after me with no judgement, they also made me laugh and cheered me up when I have been very low.

They are so good with the patients, their job can be so difficult at times as they look after lots of patients that have dementia or Alzheimer’s and to no fault of their own they can be very difficult at times.

I want to give a big massive THANK YOU to all of you as I would not have been able to get through this time in hospital without you all.

If there is an award for best ward in a hospital, ward 8 should win it..

Dear Patriciak618 can I thank you very much for taking the time to recognise the staff in ward 8 and the work that they do. You have made particularly mention that it can be an emotional rollercoaster for you at times, and that all staff groups have looked after you both physically and emotionally, and you have also mentioned that the staff have given the same care and attention to other patients. Can I thank you for your kind words and I will ensure that the Senior Charge Nurse and her staff are made aware of your very kind comments. I also note that you are still an in patient and hope that you are improving.
