"Consultant shows so much care to me as a patient"

I have been suffering with chronic back pain since I was 27 years old and am now 73. I have seen numerous Specialist Consultants over the years and have had surgery at The Walton Neuropathy Centre of Excellence in Liverpool and at The QMC Nottingham. Am not sure if it three or four major surgeries I have had to my lower back with the last one being approx five to six years ago when I had a L4/L5/S1 fusion.

Whilst respecting the efforts of the Consultants I have been introduced to over the years I feel I must mention Dr Fernandez the Clinical Lead at the Pain Management Centre at the City Hospital. Dr Fernandez is someone I highly respect for her enthusiasm in her work and her devotion to give nothing but the best service to me as a patient. She shows an absolute understanding of how pain can affect someones well being and gives 100% of her time at all times when. i have met her.

I have not met any Consultant who shows so much care to me as a patient and is very understanding when I mention my concerns. I feel really fortunate to be on her list of patients in the Pain Management Clinic. The devotion for her work is beyond question and she gives me full confidence in the treatment she considers is the best way forward for me.

The way you are treated and the respect she shows to me as a patient is priceless. Indeed, the Pain Management Team would be much poorer if she went somewhere else.
