"I was so impressed at the level of support"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Infant Feeding Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Neonatal Unit (Special Care Baby Unit) Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

I am a first time mum who delivered my son at Aberdeen maternity hospital last week. I wanted to share my thanks and appreciation for the support I received post birth.

Shortly after my son arrived he was admitted to Neonatal was a very scary experience. During those first few days post birth I had incredible support from a student Midwife (Rosie) in the Summerfield ward which I really appreciated. I was so impressed at the level of support and experience Rosie had as a student midwife.

She supported us with feeding, regular checks all of the questions we had and small things which meant a lot such as how to change a baby grow with a cannula on babies hand (which we were really nervous to do).

Thank you Rosie for all your support.

Hello pelicanyw34,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and I hope you are settling in well at home.

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback on your positive experience during your stay in Summerfield ward and in particular your excellent care from student midwife Rosie. I will ensure this is passed onto her and all the team in Summerfield ward.

Debbie
