"Alcohol dependence and mental health"

About: Staffordshire Treatment and Recovery Service - STARS / Lite Family Support Service (LFSS)

(as a service user),

After a miscarriage and relationship breakdown and social services being involved my mental health hit an all time low. I started binge drinking and really relying on alcohol to get me through day by day. I attempted suicide because I felt that was my only option left. My worker was more like a friend to me, she made me feel comfortable.

Hi Tiffany22,

Thank you for sharing your story. It was lovely to read about the bond that you developed with your worker and how comfortable that she made you feel.

I am glad that you have felt empowered to make changes to your alcohol use and mental health, it's a pleasure to hear that you have been able to continue with these positive changes long term.

Everyone here at IFSS Lite wishes you all the best in the future.

Hannah
