In August I was admitted for a planned Laparoscopic cholecystectomy August at day surgery unit, Monklands.
All staff were welcoming, friendly, caring and knowledgeable. I was constantly reassured and given information about my surgery, what to expect and advised on aftercare etc.
On being taken down to theatre I felt totally heard and truly cared for - the care, compassion and reassurance I received from the loveliest, most gentle human beings was outstanding and my nerves and anxiety were acknowledged and contained by all of them. The anaesthetist and nurses were so kind and an absolute shining example of their profession. I cannot praise them enough and I was so anxious I didn’t recall their names but I hope they know just how much they meant to me at the most frightening time in my life.
When I came to I was cared for by more staff who again I can only praise. Gentle, caring, attentive and knowledgeable staff who made me feel reassured and comforted throughout. Nurses Rachel, Lynn and Lisa and all the team - thank you!
Mr Ansari ran over his theatre time due to complications with my surgery but I’m so thankful for his skill, patience and complete professionalism and for literally saving my life and ensuring the best possible outcome that means everything to not just me but my young family. To be home recovering and full of admiration for the exemplary staff at UHM is humbling.
Thank you is not enough. The staff are all worth their weight in gold and from me and my family - THANK YOU.
