After ongoing issues with my gallbladder I reached breaking point and had to attend A&E on two occasions with significant pain/fainting/vomiting. Hairmyers was significantly busy with lots of patients, some under the influence and being disruptive etc so not easy waiting and trying to be calm but staff handled it professionally and I felt really bad for both staff and genuine patients who have to tolerate those causing unnecessary stress on a system and society in general.
I was taken through to triage within an hour and a half, I was really looked after and given anti sickness, pain relief and thorough assessment and care by Scott, Rachel, Abi, Magdalena, they are a credit to the dept. I was then admitted to ward 4 and the care and compassion I received were exemplary. Thank you so much to Barbara, Kelly and Chelsea and Mr Denley, Dr Dowie who kept me informed and really well cared for. I felt safe and reassured during such a frightening and painful time, I was missing my young family and needed their help which I got in abundance. I was then moved to ward 7, thank you to Mr Mughal, csw Aileen and Nurse Donna. I got home to rest and await my surgery. All staff are a credit to the NHS and work under ridiculous pressure but still give 100% to their patients. I cannot praise them enough. The knowledge, skill, care and compassion is world class. Thank you.
