"We were treated with courtesy and diligence"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Emergency department Outpatients Department / Clinic 6 - Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

My husband had a Perspex sheet hit his eye.  We contacted Minor Injuries who directed us to A&E.

We arrived and triaged very quickly. He didn't have to go back to the waiting room and his Dr and nurses were lovely.  They worked with him and covered all eventualities.

He then attended the casualty eye clinic where he found the dr's and nurses attentive and easy to talk to which made his experience a street free one.   All in all, a long day but we were treated with courtesy and diligence.

First rate service for a place that is struggling to keep on top of the numbers coming through their department.

Dear Kerry 572,

My name is Ashley Haslett. I am the Acting Sister of Ophthalmology. Thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts on your husbands recent visit to eye casualty.

I have shared your care opinion post with the nursing staff and doctors at our team brief this morning. They were all very appreciative to hear your feedback. I am thanking you on their behalf for taking the time to share you and your husbands experience.

I hope your husband is now doing well.
