I attended the clinic for a pre-operation assessment this morning feeling a little apprehensive because of other health problems.
I was invited in by Alana who used my first name and who took care to establish if I was happy with that. Alana put me at ease with her friendly and helpful approach. Incidentally, I noticed that all of the other patients were greeted by members of staff in a similar welcoming manner.
The review was carried out in a thoroughly professional and detailed fashion. Alana cross-checked and clarified my responses against data which was already held on file and helped me to clarify what the surgical procedure was likely to be.
I was very grateful to her for Alana's friendly yet business-like approach to the review. She helped me through the process and ensured I was fully aware of the next stage following completion of the exercise. I found her to be an excellent listener and her questioning technique was first class
When I got home I read through the literature provided and noted that she had written on the Information for Patients sheet - All the Best - and drawn a smiley face. This was a lovely touch from a lovely member of staff.
The other two team members also introduced themselves to me in a very welcoming manner but, unfortunately and unforgivably, I can't recall their names. This is a failure on my part not theirs.
My visit was a good experience and I would wish to thank the team for their warm approach. Keep up the good work.
"A lovely member of staff"
