"Please help with the approval of electronics"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as the patient),

From my knowledge the MP3 players have not been updated for several years and the 2 approved ones are of poor quality.

I've had 6 of the MP3 players now due to them always breaking and think this is unacceptable.

I've put forward another one to be approved but haven't heard anything yet after around two months.

Please help with the approval of an MP3 player/s that are reliable and up to date.

Thank you for raising this story regarding MP3 players.

I know that we have discussed these concerns, along with your peers, via the patients' intranet (TheHUB). Patients have shared their own similar experiences with those approved models of MP3 player, I am aware that returning the MP3 players to the original supplier for a refund or replacement is also a frustrating experience.

You have sent me details of a more premium model of MP3 player which is going through the process of whether it can be supported within the hospital. We are also looking at a more contemporary way of accessing music however we accept that it's important for this to happen within reasonable timescales. The use of streaming music services may also help with access to music that is not easily available on formats such as CD or available to purchase through our current shopping options.

I will publish an article on the TheHUB with progress on both the request for the more premium MP3 player as well as a more contemporary way of accessing music.
