"Utterly life changing support"

About: WestMARC (West of Scotland Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre)

(as a relative),

The care and support that the physiotherapist has shown my dad during his stay in hospital (following a below knee amputation) and the ongoing support during his weekly visits to Westmarc are in my opinion utterly life changing.

Damian in particular has given my dad back hope and a determination to walk again that I genuinely can’t thank him enough.

Losing a leg at any age is traumatic but at 80 and nearly blind life without a leg was particularly scary for him and for us as a family.

Damian shows nothing but respect for my dad, explaining and re-explaining things to him with kindness and patience and I’ve literally watched my dad turn a huge corner physically and mentally over the past few weeks.

Never underestimate the difference you make to peoples life’s - just doing your job as you say - the way you do your job makes a huge difference so thank you from dad and all of our family.

Good morning FHS68,

Thank you for sharing you and your dad's experience, I am delighted to hear it was such a positive one and that your dad is progressing so well.

Losing a leg is indeed very traumatic, everyone here is very aware of that and we strive to support each individual as best we can.

I have made Damien aware of your kind words and appreciation.

Thank you,

Joanne
