"The most painless and quick experience I've ever had"

I was nervous due to previous experiences.

I am now on my 4th contraceptive implant, so I'm no stranger to the process.

In the past I have had issues (at other clinics outside of Staffordshire) where not enough anaesthetic was used or not even time was given for it to set in, resulting in an uncomfortable and sometimes painful experience.

This time I had an implant taken out of my left arm and a new one inserted into my right arm and it was the most pleasant and painless experience I've ever had.

The lady who did the procedure, and I feel awful for not remembering her name because she was an absolute asset to the NHS, made me feel so comfortable the whole time I was there (which was probably about 40 minutes in total!).

She was patient with me when anaesthetic took a little longer than usual and talked me through the whole process, taking time to explain the positioning of the implant and where it would be best to go given my upcoming unrelated arm surgery.

If only I could request this lady do all of my future contraceptive implants, because it was the most painless and quick experience I've ever had.
