"My faith was restored the the assistant physio arrived"

About: Adult Health and Social Care Localities / Rehab Services Barrhead

(as a service user),

I broke my hip recently and when I came home from hospital the physiotherapist visited me. I felt they lacked empathy and compassion and couldn’t get out the door quick enough. They gave me exercises I could have got from the internet. They seemed to be in a rush.

My faith was then restored when the assistant physio arrived. She was the opposite, she was friendly, compassionate and caring. She visits weekly to go through the exercises with me and has made such a difference. Thank you to her for everything.

Dear lacertawd69,

My name is Lynne Siddiqui and I am the Community Rehabilitation Service Manager and Lead Allied Health Professional in East Renfrewshire HSCP.

Thank you for taking the time to connect with us and share you experience on Care Opinion. I am very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the recent assessment you received from our Community Physiotherapist, and that they lacked empathy and made you feel rushed during their visit. I am pleased, however, to read that the input delivered by the support worker in our team has demonstrated the positive qualities which are integral to the service we provide. I am delighted that her input has been compassionate and caring and is helping you in your ongoing recovery.

I appreciate you taking the time to post both your concerns and positive feedback and will share this with the staff involved. I would be more than happy to discuss your experience further, and should you wish to do this, please contact myself on 0141 451 0800.

With best wishes,

Lynne
