"My time on cottage ward"

About: Princess of Wales Community Hospital / Cottage Ward Princess of Wales Community Hospital / Inpatient Therapy Team

(as the patient),

Admitted on to the ward after going to 4 different hospitals. Came with a UTI which has been sorted I have been on cottage ward for 2 weeks. Since being on cottage ward I have had excellent care. They have have supported me to get up and walking after my hip operation. Cottage ward: food is ok with options.

Care staff: very responsive and remarkable, you press a button and they come straight away. Personal needs are met and exceeded here and at home. Nothing is too much trouble.

Nurse/Doctors: very responsive also, will talk through my medications well, explain why and what if I want them to. Very trustworthy.

Physio/OT- when I came my mobility was quite poor as I had a fall, since being on this ward they have really helped me, it’s quite spectacular really. Very attentive. Tom and Lisa really are very good, they are very friendly and do a lot on the ward for the patients. They. They put in activities every single day, the cottage gathering. I have done quizzes, exercises and activities to get you moving. The physios and occupational therapists come often to me. It’s amazing what they do.  If you want to go the options are there. It’s good to get out of my bed area into another room which is big and open.

Everyone really has been great to me here.

Hello

I would like to thank you for taking time to write your feedback on care opinion about your experience on cottage ward. We are delighted to know that you have had a pleasant stay on the ward and you are recovering well.

Its always lovely to hear from our patients and families, we understand being in hospital, away from your own home environment is a most stressful time. We try our level best to provide the best possible care but it can be very busy on the wards.

I will convey your message to our valuable therapy team including Tom and Lisa.

Take Care & Best Wishes
