"An excellent demonstration of the NHS at it's very best"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit Queen Margaret Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

I suspected I had badly damaged my left rotator cuff while doing home exercises. I went to the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) at Queen Margaret (QM) Hospital, Dunfermline, without prior arrangement. I was greeted immediately by the lady at reception who, after security questions, called the nurse.

Within 5 mins of the consultation, the nurse said my theory was probably correct (cuff) but I needed an Xray to eliminate other potential causes.
I went straight to Xray, and was met almost immediately by the radiographer who took 3 different Xrays.

I returned to the nurse in MIU who already had the Xray results and confirmed the probability of a rotator cuff injury. I returned to reception and the lady arranged for a physiotherapy consultation which is due in a few weeks time.

I cannot find enough superlatives to describe the service and treatment I received today by the staff of the MIU and Xray dept of QM Hospital, Dunfermline. Indeed, everything was absolutely perfect (including the friendliness of the staff) and from entry to exit, having done all of the above, took around 35 mins.

To the staff of the MIU, thank you so much for that.
