"The skill, care and attention easily made you forget the wait"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I attended Glasgow Victoria New Hospital for day surgery - one eye for cataract treatment.  The attention I received for a 12 noon appointment was exemplary.  There's probably always the luck-of-the-draw feel about how long you wait... mine didn't seem wonderful...I was taken for the procedure at 3.50pm. But the skill, care and attention from Dr Gajree and his team easily made you forget the wait.

And, knowing I wasn't exactly in the first flush of youth, the after-care nursing staff made a point of explaining two new eyedrop dosages and a dozen other pieces of advice...written down.

Overall, a thoroughly satisfactory experience.

Dear Snowjz87,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with the Ophthalmology service following your visit to New Victoria Hospital for cataract surgery. I am pleased to hear you had a positive experience.

I am sorry your wait was perhaps longer than expected. The theatre list is arranged by the surgeon and there are many different factors to consider including clinical priority, complexity and even patient geographical status. I hope this information offers some insight into your wait.

I have conveyed your gratitude to Dr Gajree and the nursing team. I am sure they will appreciate your kind words.

Best wishes,

Liza Campbell
