"This kind of care is really invaluable"

About: South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust / Continuity of Midwifery Carer Service

(as the patient),

I was looked after by Nadine from the very start of my pregnancy to the end. From the 12-week scan right up to my last appointment before I went into labour. Nadine was always so helpful, she made me feel like I could contact her at any time about anything at all- even when she wasn’t on shift she would deal with my queries or ask her colleague Julia to get back to me if she wasn’t available herself.

Nadine was always professional, approachable, friendly and knowledgeable. It was amazing to have the continuity of care as Nadine was aware of what was going on throughout my entire pregnancy (even things not pregnancy related) and therefore I wasn’t always having to repeat myself to multiple different healthcare professionals. We were able to build a great relationship which meant I trusted her with everything, mainly the care for me and baby throughout the pregnancy which is so important.

Nadine was always reassuring and advised that I could have additional appointments or scans if I felt this to be necessary, which thankfully I didn’t. But I know if I wanted it, Nadine would have been able to organise this for me with no issues.

After I had my son, Nadine came out to visit for the first two weeks every other day due to my son not gaining his weight back right away. She always worked around my schedule and was able to accommodate days/times that suited me. It was amazing to be able to have direct contact with Nadine throughout, this kind of care is really invaluable. I feel every woman deserves the kind of care I received from Nadine
