"Midwife care"

About: Western Health & Social Care Trust / Community Midwifery Services

(as the patient),

I have just moved my care from one hospital to another due to change of address, my care at the previous hospital was quite poor. Midwives were rude, waiting times were horrendous and I felt anxious going to every appointment.

I recently had my first appointment with the midwives in Omagh, and it was amazing. I felt welcomed, respected and the ladies were just lovely! I was so anxious going to a new hospital and possibly be treated as poor as I have previously but this wasn't the case.

They were so helpful and reassuring! I think I was sat in the waiting room 15 minutes after my appointment was due to start, and I got checked on twice to make sure someone was seeing to me. They apologised for being late but there was no need to! The first thing I said was I'm used to sitting for over an hour so don't be worrying.

Literally from the get go, really amazing and positive experience! It was such a natural, friendly, environment.

These ladies probably don't realise it, but they have made my day. Thankyou!

I am planning and preparing to transform maternity services by implementing the regional Continuity of Midwifery Carer model within the Western Trust
