"Excellent Paramedics"

About: New Cross Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

We recently had to call an ambulance out for myself after an ongoing problem with a slipped disc left me incapacitated and unable to move freely. Two wonderful paramedics named Amy and Nathan arrived promptly. The care they gave was outstanding. They put me at ease and even managed to make me laugh through my tears of pain. They didn’t make me feel rushed to get into the ambulance and kept my spirits up the whole way to the hospital. I couldn’t have asked for better care. They made me feel like they were taking my pain seriously.

My partner is autistic and can sometimes struggle in these situations, getting upset if he feels my pain is not being taken seriously, but they had him feeling at ease and happy with the care I was receiving. When we left the ambulance, we accidentally left my walking stick in there, but Amy found me later once I had been admitted to a bed and returned it to me.

Good afternoon,

In order for us to trace the paramedics and where they are based are you able to email the detail to the following email address compliments@wmas.nhs.uk quoting No - 20290

We will need the address/location the paramedics attended to, the date of the incident and the patients name?

Once the information is provided, I can trace who the crew were. We will then pass on your compliment to them along with a letter of commendation from our Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Marsh.

A copy of the compliment will also be placed on their personal files

Kind Regards

Emma Churchman
