"Excellent medical help"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Raigmore Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

Unable to get a GP appointment, my husband needed urgent medical help the following day. After a supportive response from 111 he was referred to the "out of hours" service at our local hospital where he was expected and treated almost immediately. We would like to thank 111 and medical staff at the hospital for providing an excellent service that met all medical needs with care, explanation and advice.

Following the hospital visit, and as suggested by the member of staff, we also sought further advice from a local pharmacy where we received  further information and options on a way forward for future treatment of the condition.

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I was sorry to learn that your husband required urgent medical assistance and hope that he is now feeling better.

I understand from your story that there were multiple services involved in your husband’s journey of care. I reply on behalf of NHS 24.

I was delighted to read that NHS 24 played a role in your husband’s patient journey and that we were able to support you both by arranging onward care for your husband.

If you wish to share more information with me regarding the NHS 24 element of your feedback, then I could identify our staff who managed your husband’s call and share your Care Opinion story with them. We always ensure our staff see positive feedback to reinforce to them how valued their care is when people call our service.
