"I visited the pediatric outpatient ..."

About: Countess Of Chester Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

I visited the pediatric outpatient unit with my baby son after being dismissed by my doctor as a neurotic mother. The pediatrician there was both personable and caring. Despite the initial high level of anxiety, I felt at ease and able to discuss my concerns and worries with him. As an expert in infant reflux was able to tailor the medications my son required to get the best results in the shortest time. The consultant did not just meet but exceeded my expectations.

What could be improved

I don't think I am alone when I say I wish more of the consultants did not hide behind the title and showed the same level of humanity and people-skills. Five years ago I saw a diferent pediatrician with my older child and whether intentional or not felt as if I was being looked down upon.

This type of change should be embraced rather than discouraged.
