I had a telephone consultation to ask to be referred to assist my disability to help me get some more mobility. I just got talked at and not with.
When I was asked questions, he didn't listen, but talked over me. He didn't appear to believe in my diagnosis, that I received from another hospital a year ago and ended the call by saying I needed more exercise (I can't actually walk more than 20 metres unaided) fresh air, stay hydrated and socialise!
I do all this. I also don't smoke nor drink alcohol. He ignored me when I said this and continued to talk over me. He'll refer me for further assistance, but his manner and comments made me feel dreadful and unheard.
I did thank him for his help, which he appreciated, but I was just being polite, it left me feeling really upset and not taken seriously.
