"Outstanding Care"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Initial Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

Hi so my story didn't start off so well the evening Before in the IAU at the QEUH but I won't go into that because the care I have received since that has been above and beyond and maybe it's just that I had a voice but who knows.

But starting with CN Fiona she was excellent in listening to what had happened the evening before and the passing on to SCN Sarah and Sarah reminded me what the NHS actually stand for and was always like when I worked for it many years ago and she is well deserving of her role within the unit and the care she provided me will there.

All I wished for as do all patient when they are in any care setting is that they are fully communicated with in all aspects of what is happening and this is exactly what Sarah did from start to finish making me feel reassured and at ease as it's not always easy when your not at your best to be relaxed or feel like your being treated properly.

But Sarah understood exactly my points I had made and my wishes and she made sure that ever step of my care I was informed of what was happening and what would be happening and this is the kind of nursing that should be across every ward, ever clinic and any care environment.

I would also like to thank the junior doctor on duty for also going above and beyond and listen to what was actually going on with me he was so further in his examination and made sure he was doing everything he possibly could, and this actually could of shown his consultant who's bed manner wasn't so great a better approach in patient care also.

But anyway I do want to say thank you to Sarah, Euan and Fiona for going above and beyond today and doing all they could and more.

Keep up the good work guys and thanks.

Dear Craig1985

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback via Care Opinion.

Firstly please accept my sincere apologies that your initial experience was not a positive one. I am pleased to hear that once you had highlighted this the care and treatment you subsequently received was of such a high standard.

I will ensure that your kind words and feedback are shared with Sarah, Euan & Fiona.

Many thanks again for your feedback.

Best wishes

Linda
