"Disordered eating"

About: Children and Young People Services / Child and Adolescent Mental Services

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was referred to the service for disordered eating. It was a very difficult and anxious time for my son and for us as a family unit. Having input from the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service was not something we envisaged as parents.

We were unsure of what to expect and how the service was going to help. Well I need not have worried. The support we have received has been second to none.

Barbara has been like a breath of fresh air and offered my son, and myself, the support and guidance to see us though this difficult time. Having a plan in place and goals set has been instrumental in his recovery. Having a professional to confide in with whom he feels so comfortable with has made the world of difference to my son.

The holistic approach offered exceeded all expectations and my anxieties were soon laid to rest. We cannot thank them enough.
