Our daughter - who is in her 40s and profoundly disabled - was admitted to SWAH with aspiration pneumonia. She was quickly moved to ward 1 after being stabilised by caring staff in A&E.
For us as parents it was a frightening and worrying time, but with care and kindness from supportive staff at all levels our daughter made a good recovery.
Have to mention Mark, who was ably assisted by a student nurse. They made such a difference to our daughter that day. Eimear, the disability nurse, visited us too and our daughter had the pleasure of experiencing the multisensory trolley in all its variety.
We encountered sensible, kind people who tried so hard to make our daughter's stay comfortable and dignified.
"They made such a difference to our daughter"
