"Physiotherapy referral"

About: South West Acute Hospital / Physiotherapy

(as a service user),

I was referred by my GP to the community physiotherapy team working in the Enniskillen area recently. I have been experiencing really dreadful shoulder pain, which alongside other health issues, is making my mobility problems so much worse.

I have to say that when my GP team said I was being referred I wasn’t holding out much hope that anything would be done to improve my quality of life, but how wrong was I?

Every team member that I have met or spoken to have been really supportive, realistic and positive, all at the same time. I have been so impressed with all the members of this physio team that I have met over the last few weeks. Everything that has been discussed has been delivered on in a really timely fashion.  Interdisciplinary team working and communication have been exemplary and I just wanted to say that it has been a while since I met a group of individuals, working within the NHS that really do deserve a special mention for what they are doing to help relieve pain, keeping people positive and motivated by really listening and supporting people. Thank you to everyone that I have met so far in my journey with you. You are really helping me!

Dear Kit628, thank you so much for your kind words.

I am the manager of the Community Physiotherapy Team in Enniskillen, and I will pass on your comments to them, they'll be delighted to hear them. It's always lovely to hear how their input has made such a difference to their patients, and I hope that both your shoulder and your mobility continue to improve.

Thank you
