Attended Minor Injuries Unit at Stirling Care Village for suspected broken hand, without a pre-arranged appointment. Professional, friendly treatment from start to finish from all staff, including a volunteer there to initially direct patients to correct place, which was very helpful.
The main nurse I dealt with was Laurie, who was very efficient in organising x-rays and a slab plaster cast for me. The nurse who put on the plaster was also lovely, but to my shame I've forgotten her name.
Laurie was very patient in explaining what the treatment process would be to heal a spiral fracture where the bones were now out of alignment and what I should expect as follow-up from the orthopaedic specialists at Falkirk.
I went back to the Unit three days later, as I was worried about swelling and had other concerns relating to the fracture and was again was seen by Laurie. He was extremely patient and reassuring in allaying my fears, providing further support -and a new sling to help reduce the swelling.
I can't fault the service and professionalism of all the staff I encountered at the MIU and wanted to record my thanks in an era where everyone seems quick to complain, but far less quick to thank.
