I had to book my own Annual Asthma Review as it had been 15 months since my last one.
The examining Nurse had notes on screen but demonstrated a lack of deeper knowledge and understanding regarding my own individual personal medical and Hospital history, particularly with regard to the totality & inter connectivity of my conditions, how any singular diagnosis/condition impacts upon another, and how this in turn affects wider adl's, and overall quality of life.
No Peak Expiratory Flow Spirometry was performed to see what my lung function was on the day, the Nurse didn't appear to know anything regarding posture induced airflow limitation, nor what the difference between "Asthma", and what "air hunger/starvation, or, dyspnea" is.
The Nurse was dismissive of much that I tried to explain, and appeared more interested in "ticking boxes" when registering results of Oxygen Sats, Blood Pressure, my weight, and issuing me with a Steroid Treatment Card, (despite me being prescribed Steroids at this Surgery since 2018).
The Nurse spoke to me in a moderately condescending manner, (essentially as if I were a "naughty 4 year old child"), when asking me what I would do if I had an Asthma attack, which I tried to explain was essentially a moot point (as I haven't had an Asthma Attack in over 54 years), instead preferring to point me towards what "guidance" states, as opposed to listening to me, and treating me as an "individual".
Overall, not happy in any way, shape or form.
