"Getting a cup of tea is always most welcome!"

About: Western General Hospital / Day Infusion Unit

(as the patient),

I've been attending the day unit every 8 weeks for several years now, so this space is very familiar.

I always feel cared for by the staff, whose kindness to patients, good humour and professionalism all make for a very smooth experience. I'm always impressed by how cohesive the team is: they seem to have a really good relationship; work well with and respect each other.

Getting a cup of tea is always most welcome!

It's also nice to keep one half of the unit with no music or TV on, as it can be overwhelming when both screens/radios are on.

Thank you for your kind comments left via Care Opinions. We are pleased to hear that you feel at ease and welcome in our unit. We understand that attending these appointments can be a daunting experience for many people so we try to present as relaxed atmosphere as possible.

We spend a lot of time trying to emphasise the importance of teamwork, so it is nice to have that element of our work recognised. I will pass on your comments about a cup of tea to the ward domestic staff- they do an excellent job of looking after us and the patients.

If you have any other suggestions on how to improve our service, do not hesitate to let us known.
