My 3-year-old son is in dire need of an assessment for possible autism/ADHD, his symptoms are very severe, he has PICA too.
I’ve been frantically trying to get him some help, support and a diagnosis to be able to access services. He’s looking at least another 4 years before he is seen.
I’m at my wit's end, I can’t cope, he’s attacking me, he doesn’t sleep, he is eating things he shouldn’t be like sand (at nursery). My other neuro diverse child attacked him and smashed his head off the wall because he can’t cope with his brother's constant screaming and crying, keeping him awake all night, the whole family is sleep deprived and totally worn out.
I feel 4 years on a waiting list when he is so severe is beyond ridiculous, we can’t even leave the house because my son is so bad, I’m so sick of being punched, kicked, slapped, bitten for trying to go shopping.
NHS South Lanarkshire has done nothing to help us, we don’t know where to turn to for help anymore, we’re getting nothing. How can I meet my child’s needs when there has been no support, no access to help, because of a 4 year waiting list?
