"Friendly, kind, cheerful and very professional"

About: Victoria Hospital / Haematology/Oncology Day Unit

(as the patient),

The first day I attended the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy I was extremely nervous due to the treatment I was about to receive (chemo). However, I became very impressed with how lovely and caring the staff are, how they filled the ward with laughter and joy which lifts your mood if you're a little down.

I felt safe knowing how staff actually listened to you and done their best to help you regardless how silly it may seem to you, they are wonderful and quite amazing, they really are special people ( level 3 , ward 34).

I have to be completely honest I am sure I would never have received such exceptional care and treatment at home. All staff on this ward are friendly, kind, cheerful and very professional.

I would say I recommend this ward but for obvious reason I can’t.

Dear VARob,

My name is Murdina Macdonald, I am the Lead Cancer Nurse for NHS Fife. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. I was touched by your kind words and the team will be thrilled to hear about the positive impact they had on your treatment journey.
We understand how daunting it can be to undergo chemotherapy, and am pleased our staff provided you with a supportive and comforting environment. Your recognition of their efforts to fill the ward with laughter and joy, lifting your spirits when needed, reflects the caring nature they strive to maintain.
It is particularly heartening that you felt safe and listened to, and that our staff did their best to help you with any concerns Your feedback highlights our team's dedication and professionalism, and we are proud of our team for delivering such exceptional care.
Although you humorously noted that recommending the ward is challenging given its purpose, we greatly appreciate your endorsement and heartfelt praise. It reinforces our commitment to maintaining a supportive and caring atmosphere for all our patients.

Thank you once again for your feedback. It means a lot to us and will be shared with the entire team to recognise their outstanding efforts..

Wishing you well in the future.
